1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Prentice (the "Service"), operated by [COMPANY NAME] ("Prentice", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service is
Prentice is an AI-powered job application platform. It analyzes your resume, scores your fit against job descriptions, researches companies, and generates tailored resumes, cover letters, and related career documents based on the information you provide.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
4. Subscriptions, credits, and billing
4.1. The Service is offered on paid subscription tiers. Current pricing, application credit allowances, and features are displayed on our pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period and continue until you cancel. You will be charged the then-current price for your tier at each renewal.
4.2. Application credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over. One-time top-up credits expire at the end of the billing period in which they were purchased and never renew automatically.
4.3. Fit scoring is subject to fair-use allowances per tier, shown in the Service.
4.4. Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd or its affiliates ("Paddle") as Merchant of Record. Your purchase is made from Paddle, and Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to every transaction, including billing, invoicing, and refund handling. We do not store your payment card details.
4.5. Refunds are handled by Paddle in accordance with Paddle's Buyer Terms. Except where required by law or by those terms, fees are non-refundable once application credits from the relevant period have been used.
4.6. You may cancel or pause your subscription at any time, in one click, from your account settings, no email, phone call, or support ticket required. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and prevents the next renewal charge; credits remain usable until the period ends. Paused subscriptions are not billed.
4.7. We may change prices or tier allowances with reasonable advance notice. Changes apply from your next billing cycle.
5. Your content and our license to it
5.1. You retain all rights to the content you upload, including your resume and career information ("Your Content").
5.2. You grant us a limited license to store and process Your Content solely to provide the Service: parsing your resume, scoring fit, generating documents, and delivering outputs to you. We do not sell Your Content or use it to train AI models.
5.3. You are responsible for Your Content being accurate and yours to upload.
6. AI-generated outputs
6.1. Documents produced by the Service ("Outputs") are generated from Your Content and the job descriptions you submit. Outputs belong to you, and you may use them freely for your own job search.
6.2. The Service is designed never to fabricate experience, metrics, or credentials. However, AI systems can make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing every Output before using it. You confirm the accuracy of anything you submit to an employer.
6.3. Fit scores are informational signals based on what your documents show. They are not predictions, hiring decisions, or career advice.
6.4. No outcome guarantee. We do not guarantee interviews, job offers, employment, response rates, or any specific result from using the Service.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) share, resell, or provide your account to others; (b) use automated tools, scripts, or scrapers against the Service; (c) attempt to bypass credit limits, scoring allowances, or rate limits; (d) upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or contains someone else's personal data without authority; (e) reverse engineer the Service or its prompts; (f) use the Service to create misleading or fraudulent application materials, including experience you do not have.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, scoring methodology, and content (excluding Your Content and Outputs), is owned by us or our licensors. These Terms grant you no rights in the Service except the limited right to use it while subscribed.
9. Data and privacy
Our collection and handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy at /privacy. On cancellation, your data enters a 90-day read-only window for you to download your work, after which it is permanently deleted. You may request deletion at any time via privacy@myprentice.ai.
10. Service availability and changes
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may modify, add, or remove features, and we aim to give notice of material changes. We may perform maintenance that temporarily interrupts the Service.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The Service provides tools, not professional career, legal, or financial advice.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost opportunities, lost employment, or lost earnings; and (b) our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid for the Service in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, and nothing in these Terms waives or limits any rights you hold under applicable consumer protection law, including UAE Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection where it applies to you.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms, unlawful use, or abuse of the Service, with notice where practicable. Sections 5, 6, 8, 11, 12, and 15 survive termination.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version at /terms with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. The courts of the Emirate of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service, except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise. Note that payment-related disputes are additionally subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms.
